Located at 459 Forest Ave, Buffalo, NY 14213. On one Museum Court in Buffalo, New York, the Buffalo History Museum is a nonprofit, private organization that was founded in 1862. The mission of the museum is to collect, preserve and share history. It is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and receives operating support from the City of Buffalo and County of Erie. The organization also receives support from the New York State Council on the Arts, Governor Cuomo, and other donors.



The Buffalo History Museum is located in the northwest corner of Delaware Park. Its collections include 80,000 items, and the organization has received tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service. The museum's collections include photographs, documents, manuscripts, artwork, artifacts, and books. The museum is also host to numerous exhibitions that explore the history of Buffalo. Unveiling History: Rare Prison Letters, Confessions & Iconic Notes


The museum's collections include many artifacts from the Pan-American Exposition, which was held in 1901. The museum also features a number of exhibits centered on the growth of Buffalo. There is also a collection of sports memorabilia, including a hall of fame jacket worn by Ralph Wilson. The museum also has an exhibit on the life of Charles Burchfield, who was a local artist. The museum also features a room on immigrants in Western New York, as well as a room on the history of the Native American peoples.



The museum's research library contains a scrapbook for the family of Michael Wiedrich, who was a shipping clerk for Pratt & Letchworth in Buffalo during the Civil War. He later served as captain in the 65th Regiment New York State Militia. After the Civil War, he returned to Buffalo and started a fire insurance business. He also served as a public officer.



The Buffalo History Museum's collections include an extensive collection of photographs, artifacts, and books that document the growth of Buffalo. In addition, the museum has an extensive collection of artifacts that document the development of Erie County. The Buffalo History Museum is the only surviving structure from the Pan-American Exposition. The building was originally constructed as a New York State pavilion for the event. It was renovated and renamed the Buffalo History Museum in 2012. This building is a National Historic Landmark.



The Buffalo History Museum offers workshops on topics such as copyright and intellectual property. In addition, it hosts a four-part workshop series on nonfiction publishing. The museum has also hosted a new exhibit, Icons: The Makers and Moments of Buffalo Sports. This exhibit features clothed, semi-nude, and nude figures from Buffalo's sports history. It also features Scott Norwood's only helmet, which he wore during the Super Bowl XXV.



The museum also has a collection of Liberty Loan drive posters, which were designed to promote the campaigns. In addition, the museum has a collection of handbills that were produced to support these campaigns.
